PHA Awards Banquet, an Evening of Thanks and Recognition

The Parkland Horseman's Association (PHA) held their annual awards banquet at the beautiful Parkland Golf and Country Club on Friday, August 22nd.
It was a great time, and all the diligent, hard work was so appreciated. Everyone involved into making the banquet a success, board members and other volunteers, went above and beyond to make sure all the tasks, large and small were without fault. Their careful attention to detail was very meaningful to us. They obviously cared about making it a special event for everyone in attendance. Unfortunately not all award winners were able to attend the banquet.
Barbara Flood, as acting President for the past two years did a wonderful job. Her calm demeanor kept the shows running smoothly regardless of what challenges were presented to her.
Dj George kept things moving along throughout the evening as spectacular awards were presented, and a wonderful dinner prepared by the staff at the Country Club was thoroughly enjoyed. The trainers and instructors were also given a generous appreciation gift certificate which was a very thoughtful gesture. After the festivities of acknowledging all the barns, trainers and of course the award winners, we danced the night away. Before the night was over, winners of the silent auction were announced. Thank you so much to those who donated great gifts for the auction.
How wonderful it was meeting the other barns, trainers, students and their families from our community that participated in the 2013-2014 show season. We are excited to have more participants from other barns who will be in attendance this upcoming year.

It cannot be stressed enough how much time and devotion the board members put into making our shows and year-end banquet a success. It can seem like a thankless job but please know how appreciated you are in our world of horses, of which without there would be no shows.
